  • I did the zip lining and it was amazing! The guides were knowledgeable and safe and funny. The lines were all fun and fast and going tree to tree was super fun. Dress warm if you go in the fall though. And bring gloves with rubber palms to make climbing easier and in case you get stuck on a line.

  • My fiancĂ© and I wanted something fun to do for a date...and this was it! It was easy to get to, located only a few miles off of the highway. We arrived pretty early, however there are some picnic tables and drinks/snacks available for purchase. You will have to sign a waiver (which they recommend you sign before you arrive). We did the zip line tour, where there were 6 people in our group, and 2 guides. After we got our harness on it was a short walk to the practice area. The guides familiarized us with all the equipment and there was a small section for us to practice on. After about 30 minutes we headed to the actual course. The course itself consisted of 8 ziplines, some of which are connected by bridges. There is always a guide in front, and in the back so safety is never an issue. You go at the pace of the group, so everyone stays together. About halfway through the tour, we stopped for a water break. The guides provided us with some water, and took the time to tell us some nature facts about the area. We finished with a few more zips, one of which is the longest of the tour. They said the tour takes 2 hours, however we were pushing a good 2h 30m (so just prepare for it to take longer). There were other tours there, but we never saw them. It was super quiet and peaceful in the woods. The guides were awesome. They were friendly, and patient with everyone learning the equipment. I would DEFINITELY come back here. It was reasonably priced and super fun!

  • My son (16), Dad (74) and I (46) were all 1st-timers on the zip tour offered here. From the moment we met our friendly guides Kelsey and Logan, we felt at ease. I liked our guides for a number of reasons: they both were well-trained and could explain things confidently, easily and most importantly patiently, to every member of our group. It turns out that there was even a young boy who was afraid of heights among us and I'm sure they even made him feel comfortable throughout the nearly 3-hour tour. I was super-impressed by the guides' enthusiasm even at the end of a long day of guiding, and they were each thoroughly professional from beginning to end. This includes helping us with our equipment at start and finish as well as at each platform along the way. On the whole, I really enjoyed visiting Skywood - though just getting started as an attraction this year (2016), they've already done a lot to make the zip tour hassle free. They provide free water and cups and have a place to drink it mid-way on the tour. They will also carry your own bottles so as to make your (1st time) experience as hands free as possible. I also liked the operation's offering of free bug spray at the entrance to their facilities - you truly only have to bring yourself. Things where I hope Skywood can improve upon next year are the following: the check-in staff should be more attentive and friendly. I found 2 female staff chatting among themselves and only seemed to jump to attention when a group was returning from a tour. Filling out the waivers takes little time, and my thought was that the check-in staff could take the next step to outfit participants in their equipment so that they're ready and waiting for their guides when they arrive. I feel this would speed up getting to the orientation phase and relieve some of the congestion at the base camp between tours.
